Gifted Education Referral and Testing Information for Elementary Students
Parents or guardians may request that their child be considered for evaluation to determine eligibility for gifted education services by completing the online referral form available through the link below.
Once the referral is submitted, the Student Search Team will collect supporting data related to the student’s academic performance, creativity, and motivation. After a thorough review, the team will determine whether additional testing is appropriate.
Please note that submitting a referral form does not guarantee that a student will be tested. In order for a student to move forward to the full evaluation process, there must be a preponderance of evidence suggesting the need for testing.
Students under consideration will first participate in the Talent Development program prior to any formal testing. Following participation in Talent Development, if the Student Search Team determines that further evaluation is warranted, a Parent Consent for Evaluation form will be sent home to obtain permission to proceed with the formal gifted evaluation process.
The formal evaluation process includes data collection in the areas of mental ability, academic achievement, creativity, and motivation. Gifted testing is conducted during the fall, winter, and spring testing windows.
